Central Okanagan Performing Arts Festival (COPAF), proudly sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of the Central Okanagan, has been in existence since 1927. We are a board-governed, non-profit charitable organization that oversees all aspects of the Performing Arts Festival, with open membership to the public, and executive positions elected from the membership.
COPAF produces an annual festival for aspiring performing artists to showcase their achievements in dance, music, and voice with the community and peers. Participants benefit from festival masterclasses, performance opportunities, and constructive evaluations by leading industry professionals from outside the region.
We believe that building strong community partnerships with stakeholders, and maintaining strategic focus is essential for growth and success. By doing so, the festival can continue to provide a one-of-a-kind experience, and meet the increasing demands for the performing arts community.
We are eagerly anticipating the momentous occasion of our 100th Anniversary in 2027, a significant milestone that is quickly approaching. This landmark celebration will honor a century of dedication, impact, and growth, and we are excited to commemorate this extraordinary achievement with our community and stakeholders.
I really appreciated the experience of the competition and I know other young musicians did too! I have participated in the festival for many years and I always learn something valuable from the experience. These scholarship funds will go towards my education at UBC in Vancouver, where I hope to continue engaging in music through choirs and other ensembles.
I know you devote a lot of hours towards the festival and my family and I really appreciate your commitment to the arts.
I participated in the 2022 Kelowna Kiwanis Festival in the grade 10 violin class. I was very honoured to receive the Shining Star award from Chamber Music Kelowna. Thank you very much for the award, it will help go towards a new violin that I have been saving for. I look forward to next year’s festival.
Thank you for continuing to support the dance community by hosting the festival each year. It is so important to me and to many of my friends that it happened this year, since the past few ones have been canceled due to Covid. This festival allows us to express ourselves in a safe and welcome environment, which I believe we all need in a time like this. Thank you again!
I was the successful recipient of your generously awarded Achievement Scholarship for Best Intermediate Musical Theatre. For the past five years I have studied Musical Theatre and Classical Voice. I also love playing the piano and bass guitar. I plan to pursue the performing arts as my future career. I will be using these funds toward furthering my vocal studies. Thank you so much for supporting my musical education.
